The Borough of Flemington and Hunterdon County schedule several events throughout the year to provide residents the opportunity to dispose of items that are illegal to dispose of in your normal garbage.
Bulk Items are no longer being picked up weekly. Residents can put out up to 4 bulk items, and each item must have a sticker on it. Stickers are on sale at Borough Hall (4 for $40). There will be bulk collections only 4 times a year, and the next bulk collection events for 2023 are on the following dates:
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS DISPOSAL
Several times a year the County Complex on Route 12 holds a Household Hazardous Waste Clean-Up event. No pre-registration is required and all county residents are welcome. Leftover household products may contain corrosive, ignitable, reactive, or toxic ingredients and are considered to be household hazardous waste. Improper disposal of these wastes (pouring down drains, storm sewers, or in some cases putting them out with the trash) are unlawful and will pollute the environment and pose a threat to human health. No computers or monitors will be accepted. See information about our Special Electronics Cleanup Day Program. There will be Hazardous Materials Disposal only 2 times a year, and the next disposal event for 2023 is on the following date:
Four times each year the County Complex on Route 12 holds an Electronics Recycling Collection event. Items accepted include Desktop Printers, Desktop Fax Machines, Computers, Computer Monitors, TVs, DVD Players, Radios, Cell Phones, Digital Cameras, Keyboards (Items not accepted include Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers, Refrigerators, Microwaves, Propane Tanks, Hazardous Waste). For larger quantities or commercial disposal of computers contact Newtech Recycling Inc. at 732 564-3110.
