Mayor Marcia A. Karrow

Marcia's family has resided in Flemington Borough since 1922 where her grandfather, Ben, established a tailor shop. Her father, Sol, began what became Karrow Men's Wear during the Lindbergh Kidnapping Trial when the NY City elite corps of reporters including Walter Winchell stormed the County Seat and needed additional business suits when the trial lasted longer than expected. Her father served on Borough Council as President and Mayor for 20 years and her mother, Adele, served on the Flemington-Raritan School Board for 8 years. Both of her parents were members of many not-for-profit service organizations in Hunterdon.

Born in a family dedicated to community and public service, Marcia served as a Raritan Township Committeewoman and Mayor, has served on countless local and county boards and committees, as the first woman member of the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders (now County Board of Commissioners), a Member of the NJ State General Assembly and as a NJ State Senator. She holds a Masters Degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Baruch College (City University of New York). She serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Hunterdon 300th (the Hunterdon Tricentennial Committee), a historical not-for-profit dedicated toward the education of Hunterdon County history, and on the Boy Scouts of America Washington Crossing Council as the Executive Vice President for Governance and By-Laws. She is the proud third generation resident of her home in Flemington.

Council President Tony Parker

Tony Parker and his spouse, Scott, have proudly called Flemington Borough home for the past nine years.

Tony brings extensive experience in strategic planning, program development, business development, managed services, contract administration, advertising, and training across both federal and private sectors. He has also served as a consultant to small businesses, including overseeing Small Business Administration-approved Mentor-Protégé programs.

Throughout his career, Tony has collaborated with numerous federal agencies, including the Department of State, United States Marine Corps, Department of the Army, Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control, Veterans Administration, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Department of Transportation, Corps of Engineers, General Services Administration, and Department of Energy.

His diverse career spans industries such as financial services, managed services, food service, healthcare, information technology, and advertising. He has held roles with Fortune 300 and 500 companies as well as small businesses and currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Pride Network.

Tony and Scott discovered Flemington on a detour while on their way to look at property in Lambertville. Driving through the Borough, Tony was struck by its potential and charm. When they turned onto Broad Street and saw their current home, they knew instantly that Flemington was where they were meant to be.

Tony’s passions include fitness, gourmet cooking, entertaining, and travel. He is dedicated to serving his community and helping Flemington thrive.

Council Vice-President Susan D.M. Engelhardt

A New Jersey native and Flemington Borough resident for twenty-three years, Susan married her high school sweetheart, Jason, and is the enthusiastically proud mother of two sons. The Engelhardts settled in Flemington because they were determined to raise their family in a walkable, diverse and established historic community. Appointed to Flemington’s Planning Board of Adjustments since 2008, she has was concurrently served the last five mayoral administrations. 

Susan holds a Masters of Architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design focusing on planning law and sustainable design. Over 30 years, Susan's professional portfolio includes many successful public bond referendums, master plans, educational and mixed-use residential projects, and county and park facilities. She specializes in preparing public bid documents, technical specifications, and navigating regulatory agency approvals.

Trent has been a resident of Flemington Borough since 2016, where he lives with his mom and brother.

His journey into municipal governance began in 2020, when he joined the Environmental Commission and the Planning Board, serving as Vice-Chair for both in 2023.

Since moving to Flemington, Trent has fully embraced the Borough. He cherishes the local shops, the walkable streets, and the close-knit community atmosphere, which all serve as daily reminders of what makes Flemington special. Looking forward, Trent is dedicated to enhancing these aspects of Flemington, aiming to foster a more vibrant community for both residents and visitors alike.

Council Member Brandon Arias

Brandon is a lifelong Flemington resident who brings fresh energy and a deep commitment to his community as a member of the Borough Council. Growing up in a family-owned business, Brandon developed a strong foundation of hard work, leadership, and adaptability—values that guide his approach to public service.

Brandon is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging for all Flemington residents. He is passionate about celebrating the borough’s diversity and aims to make local events and festivals more inclusive of the many cultures that contribute to the town’s unique identity. By creating spaces where all residents feel welcome and involved, Brandon strives to help Flemington thrive as a vibrant, connected community.

Outside of his council duties, Brandon enjoys playing soccer, exploring the outdoors, and gaming. He is honored to serve as a voice for his neighbors and is committed to ensuring every resident has the opportunity to help shape the future of Flemington.

Council Member Beth Herbert

Born in New Jersey, Beth grew up moving frequently but never found a true hometown—until she came to Flemington. She and her family chose to put down roots here in 2020, drawn by the borough’s walkable downtown, strong schools, and the potential for a bright future. She and her husband live in a historic home on Broad Street with their daughter, son, and two Norwegian Buhund dogs. On weekends, you’ll often find her enjoying coffee on Stangl Road, shopping on Main Street, or knitting with friends at Lone Eagle’s Sips ‘N’ Stitches.

With over 20 years as a manager and leader, Beth specializes in building high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and turning vision into action. Her work in the public sector—including with the New Jersey Department of Education—has given her insight into the challenges and opportunities facing communities like Flemington. She knows when to roll up her sleeves and when to delegate, and she values productive conversations where diverse perspectives come together to find solutions.

Beth is committed to growing Flemington’s tax base by supporting small businesses and attracting new opportunities—while ensuring that growth enhances the borough’s historic character and tight-knit community. She believes revitalization isn’t just about new buildings; it’s about strong schools, smooth roads, thriving businesses, and a Main Street full of life.
