Note from Council Member Jeremy Long

This January, I will be proposing the creation of a Civic Engagement Committee for Flemington Borough. The goal is simple: to create a more engaged community where everyone has an opportunity to get involved.
I am certain that this community can better engage with one another, our elected leaders, and the committees, commissions, and groups that already exist in Flemington Borough. There are many talented people living in Flemington Borough. These are our real “natural resources” and it is well past time that we actively engage these individuals in order to see what this town is truly capable of.
We need to focus on building consensus, and finding the common ground needed not just to move Flemington into a post-pandemic world, but to create a better Flemington. A more “perfect union” in the heart of Hunterdon County.
There are roles in this town for those of you who want to get involved in your community. So if you have ever felt that itch to have an impact on something or that pull to have some sort of guiding hand in your community, this might be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
