Special Notice From Flemington Borough About the Hunterdon Area Energy Cooperative (HAEC)

Residents participating in the Hunterdon Area Energy Cooperative (HAEC) electricity program will receive a notice from HAEC in the coming days or weeks about the program ending. The Borough wanted to share this information ahead of time to explain the change and reassure residents that no action is required.

HAEC's electricity supply contract with Constellation NewEnergy, Inc., will end on November 30, 2026. HAEC sought new pricing from licensed electricity suppliers in July, August, and September. Unfortunately, none offered pricing low enough compared with JCP&L's rate to award a new contract.

Residents currently enrolled in the HAEC program will automatically return to JCP&L's Basic Generation Service with their December 2026 meter reads. Your electricity service will continue without interruption, and there is nothing you need to do. No calls, paperwork, or other action are required.

If the HAEC program returns in the future, eligible residents will receive information by First Class U.S. Mail. No one will call you or knock on your door regarding the HAEC program.
