Please be advised the special BID assessment tax is still due to the Borough of Flemington throughout this transition time. The assessment was determined in 2015 and we are required by law to collect it through the second quarter. The monies collected from the year 2016 are being held in escrow by the Borough of Flemington. The new entity, Flemington Community Partnership (FCP) will be presenting a budget for approval by the Borough Council at the May 23, 2016 meeting. Once a budget is approved, which could occur in June the funds collected will be applied to the new Flemington Community Partnership entity.
All unpaid balances for taxes will be subject to penalties and interest pursuant to NJSA Title 54, which is 8% interest up to $1,500.00 and 18% for anything over $1,500.00. All unpaid balances will be subject to applicable tax sale laws. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 908-782-8840.
