Electronics recycling is coming to Flemington Borough. SustainAbilities Electronics Recycling will kick off the collections on June 8, 2019; after that, collections will be on the first Saturday of every month. The collections will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the thrift store at 1 Church Street run by Abilities of Northwest Jersey.
Items recycled for free include computers and computer accessories (towers, servers, laptops, mouse, keyboards, speakers, wires and cords); audio-visual components; small office equipment; telephones and cell phones; and small kitchen and household appliances.
TVs and monitors will be recycled for a $25 fee.
Copy machines and items containing freon (like refrigerators, freezers, AC units and dehumidifiers) will not be accepted, and items weighing more than 50 pounds will not be accepted.
The electronics recycling effort will not only help our environment; it will provide meaningful job skills to people with different abilities through Abilities of Northwest Jersey’s job training program. Abilities of Northwest Jersey also has an electronics drop-off at 264 Route 31 North, Washington, that is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
